Sort collections by total inventory value

I'd love a script that multiplied the variant inventory number by the variant cost price, then at a product level summed the variant inventory values, and then would sort all collections by this totalproduct inventory value.

I find this interesting, and would like to see how it would work before making a decision.

However, I would be curious to know if a Mechanic task could sort collections by most profitable for non-sale collections, and least profitable for Sale collections as examples.
